Things that prevent me from writing:
~I'm too lazy to actually get started. Once I am started, I'm usually off for a good 10 minutes.
~It just seems I have better things to do. Like eat. But now that I think about it, writing is a good way to avoid eating. Hmm.
~writer block.
~Being in a mood where I refuse to do something productive.
Imagine the above excuses as pesky animals:
~I think being lazy would be a cat. Not just because blogthings said that's what I'd be as a pet. A cat's 'fable' moral is that their lazy, selfish, independent. Mostly lazy. Cat nap... Actually cats seem to have a lot of dominated phrases for something so lazy. catnap, cat fight, copy-cat. Strange.
~I don't know any animal that procrastinates. I know the tortoise perseveres against the hare. I guess the hare would be the one that just pretends to be busy, but really isn't accomplishing anything.
~I guess writer's block would be a...mouse? Just because they...they're small, annoying creatures. Concentrate on the annoying feature.
~It wouldn't be a bird b/c birds are always flapping their wings. And moody is different from a lazy cat. How about...I don't know. I guess a lot of animals are productive. Maybe a spider? Because they weave a nest and then just stop waiting for things to come to them. Like I wait for my mood to pass.
Ask yourself how you might find a way to adopt this creature and take such good care of it that it would no longer get in your way. What would you feed it? Where would it sleep?
Okay, normally I'm not that big of an animal person. But I tolerate pets because I'm usually getting paid to babysit their owners.
~I'd get that cat some yarn or some toy to get it moving. Maybe play with it. Get it a friend to hang out with? It would probably sleep in a basket (like that thing the Lady in the 'Lady and the Tramp' had). Preferably as far from me as possible. Unless I learn to love the kitten and then I might let it in my room. Maybe even on my bed. Very picturesque.
~My neighbor once 'petsay' a bunny for a friend who was away. It slept in the cage. I'd probably have to clean it's cage (ugh!). They're really soft so I wouldn't mind a short visit. I don't know how the cat would react.
~There is no way I'm taking care of a mouse. My mom spotted one the other night and right now we're trying to figure out a way to get it out.
~Ditto for the spider. But I'd probably be happy for its ridding my off other creepy crawlers.
